A welcoming table
Show up with your drink of choice (Marc with coffee, Sonia with tea), your dog, your kids — whoever you are, you're welcome here.
Two ways to get together in Guernsey: conversation at the Bathing Pools on Wednesdays and Fridays, and building with practical AI support at The Duke on Mondays.

"I started enjoying life a bit more. All the little things."
New Beginnings started as a simple idea: that the most useful thing in a life transition is often a table, a warm drink, and people who get it. No agenda, no script — just real conversation among people navigating big change. What we found is that magic shows up when you give it the space to. Friendships form. Ideas catch fire. Surprise adventures appear on the calendar.

Yes, we talk about the real stuff. We also laugh, play, and cheer each other on. It feels more like friendship than therapy.
People invite each other on adventures, collaborate on projects, and show up for each other long after the morning ends.
Launching something new and want fellow travellers on the journey
Trading the old path for something that lights you up
Making Guernsey home and finding your people
Whatever transition you're in, there's room at the table

Sonia has a gift for making everyone feel instantly welcome. She brings warmth, wisdom, and her therapy dog Frankie — creating a space where it's safe to be real about the messy bits of life while still having a proper laugh. She's the one who remembers everyone's story and somehow always asks the perfect question.

Marc believes every great adventure starts with a conversation — and he's made it his life's work to spark them. In 2014 he originated the Ikigai Venn diagram by joining the word ikigai to Andrés Zuzunaga's existing purpose Venn diagram. As author of The 50 Coffee Adventure, he brings infectious energy and endless curiosity. He's the one asking 'what if?' and connecting you with exactly the right person to make it happen.
Knowing that there is a free, accessible, welcoming, open-hearted community that shares my values has been like a background net during a very difficult period of my life.
“I met Marc, an angel in human form.”
“Loads more friends and a deeper connection to the island — I feel like I belong.”
“Seeing how beautiful the future might be, if we only just care a little bit more about strangers.”
“The togetherness. I'm there knowing everyone's got each other's back.”
“Realising that no one has a clue… not just me.”
“I'd miss hanging out with my friends — and worry we'd missed a chance to help people be healthier, happier, more connected.”
Have a drink, meet people and talk about life, ideas or whatever is on your mind.
"Optional cold dip for the brave."
Beach fires at sunset. Secret suppers over long tables. Weather updates.
Bring your laptop and something you want to move forward. Work alongside others, try ideas and get practical support using AI.
Send us your details and we'll get in touch. If you'd like the announcements for the next gathering — and the next surprise adventure — you can join the WhatsApp group directly too.
New Beginnings is open to everyone. Come to a gathering, join the WhatsApp group and you are part of it, whoever you are and however long you have been here.
If you are thinking about a longer stay or a bigger move, two related island projects might also suit you. Good Vibrations invites founders, leaders and accelerator alumni to spend a week in Guernsey with the community, exploring what comes next. Welcome Aboard offers optional personal support for building a life and business here.
Neither is needed to join us. You are welcome at New Beginnings just as you are.
